However, it is nothing compared to what it is today with companies like Downhill Adventures leading the way. We run Snowboarding camps to Tiffindell Ski Resort, South Africa’s only legitimate ski resort, located on the southern border of Lesotho. Through the months of June, July, and August there is guaranteed snow with the help of snowmaking machines. The resort is the ideal place for learning to snowboard. For South Africans Snowboarding is the best option to get into as it is easier to learn and more fun within a shorter time frame. An early morning drive out to Gansbaai, a quaint fishing village that is now known as "The Great White Capital of the World".Our operator has been running these shark excursions for 6 years. The skipper has had many years experience with the Great White, thus ensuring a 96% sighting rate. He is passionate about the Great White and will leave you with a wealth of knowledge about this incredible animal and will demystify the beast!Non-divers can also enjoy viewing from the boat as this can at times be more spectacular than the sightings from the cage. Snorkeling in the 6 man stainless steel cage is another option if you are not a qualified diver. Surfing, that elusive sport reserved only for those lucky few - Not so! Downhill Adventures gets those wannabe surfers off the beach and onto a board. Downhill Adventures teaches absolute beginners the basics of surfing: paddling out, reading the wave, catching a wave and how to control your body weight to stand-up. The boards we use are Mini Mals (Long boards); these boards are light, stable, and ideal for learning to surf. Our Kayak operation is based in Mouille Point, Cape Town – a dedicated sea kayaking outfit specializing in offering the best guided sea kayaking trips along the coast of the Cape Peninsula. An expert mountain Guide leads you on the off-road trails while giving advice on bike handling skills and information about the Fynbos Floral Kingdom and Geographic structures. A leisurely ride through forest and vineyards on some of Cape Town’s finest wine farms in Constantia. Farms include Groot Constantia, Buitenverwagting and Uitsig. The ride starts just beyond Constantia nek, and is a continuos downhill through the various estates. The ride follows paths through the indigenous forest of the area, and then meanders through the villas and large estates that make this area famous, giving a great perspective into historic and cultural Cape living. This is a leisurely ride giving one an insight into traditional Cape culture by way of direct experience and participation.
